Our Produce Mobilization Strategy
Group Mobilization: ACENSIA provides direct markets for smallholder farmers as off-takers. To strengthen farmers’ bargaining power and to mobilize bulk quantities, we focus on organizing farmers into cooperatives or associations. This collaborative approach enhances collective marketing efforts and allows for more equitable negotiations. Our market information systems will empower farmers to compare various market offerings, enabling them to make informed decisions and maximize their profitability.
Community Mobilization Agents: ACENSIA prioritizes a consistent supply chain for our downstream clients. To streamline our operations, we have strategically positioned our community mobilization agents in major producing communities and centers in the North East Region. These community agents, along with community storage facilities and a well-managed transportation network, form the backbone of our supply chain. We strive to empower farmers to improve post-harvest handling by equipping farmers with the knowledge and skills needed to enhance the quality of their produce.
Enhancing Product Standardization and Certification: As part of our commitment to empowering smallholder farmers to improve the quality of grains and produce so they can access high value markets, we focus on enhancing harvest quality, standardization, and certification. Our approach involves working closely with farmers to meet rigorous product standards, especially in the shea and soybean value chains, and obtain necessary certifications to attract premium prices. We provide support for farmers in sorting their produce and packaging. We support fair and accurate weighing practices. We actively implement robust quality control systems in the communities we serve to ensure quality produce that offers premium prices to our farmers.
